This participant-led session will guide teachers to examine priority standards and how foundational skills develop over time across grades 3 and 4. Through structured discussion and skill tracing, participants will identify where key concepts build and breakdowns may occur. The session will invite educators to share and reflect on effective remediation strategies for students needing support, as well as enrichment approaches to extend learning. Teachers will collaboratively build a clearer, more coherent understanding of instruction across the grade band.

Through collaborative skill tracing, participants will analyze prerequisite skills and identify common gaps affecting student learning that support targeted remediation and meaningful enrichment opportunities. Teachers will work together to strengthen alignment and ensure instructional consistency across the middle grades.

Participants will reflect on effective approaches for remediation while maintaining grade-level expectations, as well as strategies for enriching student learning. The session emphasizes collaborative dialogue to support coherence and readiness for postsecondary pathways.
